Q: What Tranche of the buyback does the service cover?

A: Tranche 20.2 Windows and Apple Notebooks.

Q: What happens with my notebook once collected?

A: Renew IT will collect all notebooks and return them to a processing facility for certified data sanitisation services. The notebook will be wiped and re-installed with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) software before returning the notebook.

Q: How many notebooks can I purchase?

A: The Department has facilitated a program with Renew IT to offer staff to purchase the Tranche 20.2 notebook which is allocated to you.

Q: Will I receive my own notebook?

A: Yes. The exception to this standard is if an operational fault is identified at the time of data wipe or re-imaging.

Q: What happens if my notebook is found to be faulty?

A: Renew IT will notify you and offer a like-for-like replacement or a full refund.

Q: Where will my notebook be sent?

A: Your notebook will be returned to the school address associated with your employee ID number.

Q: Will Microsoft Office be loaded on my notebook?

A. No, the notebook will be wiped and re-installed with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) software.

Q: What happens if my notebook doesn’t work when I receive it?

A: Renew IT offer a 7-day warranty period starting from the date of delivery for any notebooks received as DOA (dead on arrival). Please contact Renew IT at de.enquiries@renew-it.com and we will contact you to offer you a like-for-like replacement or a full refund.

Q: Will the notebook I receive have all my data?

A: No, if you wish to retain PERSONAL data, it is your responsibility to back-up to an external device prior to the collection. Renew IT does not accept responsibility for loss of data.
